Dirty Deeds is back for 2011 with a bang

Can’t wait for the cyclocross season to kick off? Head Down Under for the 2011 Dirty Deeds cyclocross series and check out some new competition and terrain. The series takes place during what’s mid-winter for Australia, and for just $10, you get access to well-supported racing, a growing prize list and what sounds like a terrific, burgeoning ’cross community.

We briefly reported on last year’s Dirty Deeds series. According to promoter Nik Cotterell, the races have inspired the state cycling body to step up and throw its own, larger scale event later in the season. That may very well turn into the first-ever state championship in Australia for 2012. Stay tuned as we continue to bring you updates on southern hemisphere cyclocross (also see the video from cyclocross in Adelaide, and the New Zealand Cyclocross National Championships).
From the promoters:

The Dirty Deeds CX crew is back again this year with another dose of mud, fun, cowbells and of course heckling.

This year we have added a night-time prologue for you to get a fun gauge of how rusty your skills have gotten over the off-season as well as to meet some of those people you will be toeing the line with for the rest of the series – and ogle their new bikes.

We have also added another new venue which we believe shows a lot of promise for a course.

There are even more bikes and other prizes on offer for competing (and showing with a good attitude) courtesy of our generous sponsors.
