Thibau Nys (AA Drink) used his dad’s trick to win his dad’s race.

The first-year Junior has been a quick learner. Less than 15 months ago, we saw Sven Nys put on a clinic in Chicago, showing cyclocross students how to take the pedaling way up a flight of stairs.

Just one year later, we saw the younger Nys putting on the same clinic in Belgium for some younger cyclocross fans.

Both were out-of-race situations, and Svenness himself needed two attempts to clear the flight of stairs.

Now the Next Nys has pulled off the maneuver in a race situation, and it helped him get his winning gap.

Nys wasn’t done putting on a show, however. Over the jumps, Nys did his best Stybar impersonation, throwing in a few whips of this rear wheel on his way to starting 2019 with a win over Spaniard Gonzalo Inguanzo Macho and AA Drink teammate Ward Huybs.

Have a watch of the heroics in the highlight video below.
