John Behrens, racer for Bailey Bikes and long time top Elite racer in Socal was struck by a car on Wednesday evening. He suffered extensive injuries and is still in surgery this weekend to repair two broken vertebrae and a shattered pelvis. He has a laundry list of other broken bones and is expected to be in the hospital for weeks with months of rehab.
It was a “no fault” accident so his lost work and extensive medical expenses will be out of pocket for him. Accidents like this happen all too often, and the damage, both physical and financial, can be catastrophic for the rider. Consider donating to Behrens if possible.
