Heading to the 2010 Cyclocross National Championships in Bend, or curious about the cyclocross time trial many of the cyclocross racers will be tackling in attempt to get a good start position? We’ve got a preliminary time trial course video preview for your enjoyment and studying. One warning…it’s snowy out there (and our camera doesn’t have windshield wipers)! Yesterday’s one lap ride of the time trial course, with the current snow amounts and course conditions took 20 minutes in the snow and ice.
Part 1 of 2:
Part 2 of 2:
Camera pilot Matt Fox of bendcyclocross.com said that the course was “rutted out and frozen.” Remind you of our popular course preview from last year, complete with a painful crash? Of course, as we’ve seen from last year, with unpredictable weather and over a thousand competitors, course conditions can change by the minute and you can be sure the promoters will be clearing parts of the course to make for faster riding. It’ll be challenging racing for sure.
Like what you see? Worried? Drop a comment below. And pass the video along to friends and fellow competitors (who you aren’t trying to beat).
Thanks to Sunnyside Sports and lead rider Serena Bishop for their help with the video.

Two long runs. You can ride the run up...where are the turns..?

Brad and crew will make sure it's not a 20 minute slog. Hopefully the weather will be better, and if it isn't the course can be cleaned or shortened to bring the TT times back down to what they originally wanted. On a fast day this lap is about 8-9 minutes.
This seems like the perfect course for my dad. It looks to be all snow, uphill the whole way. Can I ride it barefoot ?
How many pit bike exchanges can I make during the Time Trial? ;)
