Utah-based WickWërks LLC. is holding an auction in support of the Amy D. Foundation running from Monday, December 2, through Monday, December 9, 2013. WickWërks will be auctioning one set of their newest, 42/34 combination cyclocross ring sets on eBay.

This tooth combination was designed in collaboration with nine-time national cyclocross champion, Katie Compton, who has ridden them to multiple domestic and international wins this season. The rings at auction are the last set in a special run for Compton, who to date, has been the only cyclist riding this WickWërks combination. The rings have not yet gone into production, and will be available to the public in early Spring 2014.

All the proceeds of the auction will go to the Amy D. Foundation, which was established in memory of Amy Dombroski, a top ranked American cyclocross racer, who was killed in a tragic training accident in October. The Amy D. Foundation encourages and supports girls on bikes, inspiring the celebration of healthy challenge and empowering the confident pursuit of dreams. Monies raised will go to efforts and events, like cycling clinics, supporting this intent.

Because of expressed interest in the rings, WickWërks decided to put this last set to good use in support of the Amy D. Foundation. This year, while riding for the Belgium-based Young Telenet-Fidea squad, Dombroski became a WickWërks sponsored athlete, running WickWërks rings on her Ridley X-Fire race bike.

Katie & Mark Compton, also wanting to support the cause, have donated one of Compton’s own Trek Cyclocross Collective jerseys – a new, insulated, women’s large, long-sleeve jersey, customized with ‘KfC’ on the collar – to go with the rings in the auction. “The sadness of Amy’s death coupled with the many requests about Katie’s rings clicked with me one day,” said Eldon Goates, WickWërks Engineer. “Why not support the Amy D. Foundation and give someone the chance to ride the rings made for Katie? When asked about it, Katie was all in support and offered the jersey to go with it. Hopefully these items will generate a wonderful and substantial contribution in Amy’s honor.”

WickWërks is providing free shipping to the winner any where in the world, in order to ensure the money raised goes straight to the foundation.
