The whirlwind first month of the 2019/20 cyclocross season is in the books, with September racing here in the U.S. wrapping up with a very muddy World Cup Waterloo.

The completion of the weekend in Waterloo also means the end of the first successful month of the CX Heat Check Power Rankings compiled by Bill Schieken of CXHairs and his Apple IIe algorithm super computer.

In just a few weeks, the Voler Apparel CX Heat Check Power Rankings have taken on a life of their own, with athletes, fans and supporters all talking about snubs, surprises and omissions.

The latest power rankings, especially on the Men’s side, got a second week of foreign influence, with the Belgian men cleaning up at the two World Cups and women such as Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing CX), Inge van der Heijden (CCC – Liv) and Jolanda Neff (Trek Factory Racing CX) influencing race outcomes.
