Schwalbe Rocket Ron Cyclocross Tire

Schwalbe's Rocket Ron Cyclocross Tire

We’ve just learned that Schwalbe will be releasing the popular Rocket Ron mountain bike tire in a cyclocross version for 2010.

With the popular Racing Ralph cyclocross clincher now featuring a tread more suited for hard pack, the new Rocket Ron may be Schwalbe’s best wet and muddy conditions cyclocross tire.

Featuring wider blocks than the new Racing Ralph and aggressive side knobs, the tire may satisfy those saddened by the Racing Ralph redesign.

The tire will come in a 35c width. While final weights are unavailable, given that the wide 26×2.1 mountain bike size weighs as little as 410 grams, we have high expectations that this will be a lightweight, race-worthy tire.

Stay tuned as we put an early pair to the test. Will we soon see a long-awaited Schwalbe tubular? We can only hope.
