In addition to the big-time SpectaCross at the NJ State Fair, east coast cyclocrossers can enjoy some rare summer ‘cross at two other summer races organized by the long-standing Route 66 New England mountain bike series. The first race is on June 27th in Westmoreland, NH and the second is on the July 25/26 weekend at the famous Mt. Snow venue in Vermont.

Race series director Jill Logan told Cyclocross Magazine that she thought putting on two summer ‘cross races was “worth at try” but she’s “hoping actually that it will be low key.”

We intrepret that as “dust off the ‘cross bike, show up, have a good time, make the event a success, but don’t expect a UCI affair.”

Perhaps this is yet more proof that there’s never a bad time for cyclocross.
