Temperatures dropped a bit for Sunday’s Day 2 of the 2015 Ellison Park Cyclocross p/b Full Moon Vista UCI cyclocross race, but the hot topic was still the new UCI ban of feeding during cyclocross races.

Thankfully the UCI officials kept their cool, relented and didn’t enforce the new rule. During Day 2, riders were showered with sprinklers and allowed new bottles for today’s racing.

Arley Kemmerer (Level Eleven Racing) kept the heat on however, grabbing the holeshot and quickly stringing out the field. Courtenay McFadden (American Classic) took to the front after two laps, but it was Meredith Miller (Noosa) and Kaitlin Antonneau (Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld) who remained cool and waited for the dust and smoke to clear.

Antonneau, yesterday’s winner, moved to the front with three to go, and kept stretching the gap between her and Miller.

But with one lap to go, Miller latched back on, and entering the downhill of the course, passed Antonneau, attacked the descent and run-ups, and was gone for good.

Mani chased eventual third-place rider Crystal Anthony (Boulder Cycles Sport / YogaGlo) to the finish and would collapse at the line due to heat exhaustion, and Rachel Lloyd finished in fifth.

Check back soon for rider interviews and a full report.
