While Ceylin Alvarado (Alpecin-Fenix) dominated the season early on, Lucinda Brand (Telenet Baloise Lions) has been taking wins left and right these past few weeks.
The two were in a constant battle for the victory at Superprestige Boom. While Alvarado triumphed on the descents, Brand’s endurance from her past in road cycling carried over to help her through the climbs.

Ultimately, Brand was able to gain enough advantage to take the victory.
Second place went to Alvarado and third went to Denise Betsema (Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal).

American Clara Honsinger finished in 6th. Kaitie Keough finished 22nd, Rebecca Fahringer finished 26th, Katie Compton finished 29th and Cyclocross Magazine Columnist Corey Coogan Cisek finished 43rd.
Maghalie Rochette finished 7th, Ruby West (Proximus – Alphamotorhomes – Doltcini CT) finished 25th, Sidney McGill finished 36th and Siobhan Kelly finished 36th.
Overall, it appears the North Americans are moving up the ladder and it may not be long before we see some making podiums!
