Spain-based BH Bikes may not be the first name you think of when you’re looking for a cyclocross or gravel bike. The company used to share the same frame as the Pivot Vault, but now the company has branched off into new off-road territory with two new drop bar bike lines in the form of the Gravel X line and an updated RX Team cyclocross bike.

BH Alloy Gravel X

The aluminum Gravel X comes in $2,699 Ultegra build and $1,399 Tiagra builds, both which share a bright orange aluminum frame and carbon fork. The bikes feature a longer wheelbase and lower bottom bracket compared to the race-oriented RX Team cyclocross bike.

The Tiagra Build as shown was rolling with Alex CXD6 tubeless wheels and Schwalbe G-One 40mm tires, while the official spec is Alex Boondocks 5 wheels. There’s plenty of clearance to spare around the 40mm rubber, especially up front.

The Ultegra build inherits DT Swiss C1800 tubeless wheels. Both builds add some flare with FSA Adventure Compact handlebars.

Carbon RX Team Cyclocross Bike

The RX Team, formerly the same frame as the Pivot Vault, has received an update. It inherits BH’s EVO carbon, the company’s top-level carbon fiber. There’s more clearance at the seatstays for bigger tires with a completely new rear triangle. Of course, there are flat mount disc brake calipers and your standard thru-axles.

Cable and wire routing is internal, with the company’s CIR (Convertible Internal Routing) that features different ports. The Ultegra build is $3,299. The frameset is available separately for $1,999.

BH Bikes is taking an interesting approach to retailing. The bikes are available through dealers, through Velofix and also dealer direct. The company will ship your bike to your local bike shop, even if it’s not a BH Bikes dealer. It pays the shop a commission to build your bike and help you with fit.
