America’s oldest cyclocross series returns to Santa Cruz County this weekend with the return of  its famous Halloween festivities including costume cross, a free kid’s race, and of course candy for the kids on Sunday at Aptos High School.

On Saturday, racers can hone their skills and get some a course preview by attending a skills clinic led by some of the region’s best-known cyclocrossers at Sunday’s race venue.

Changes are in store for this year for the long-running cyclocross series, with promotion now led by Mary Perez, sanctioning now handled by USA Cycling, and a new course designer.  2000 U23 Cyclocross National Champion Ben Jacques-Maynes is designing the race course on the hilly Aptos High School campus. Pre-registration closes 8pm on Friday, October 26.
