Ellen van Loy Fans Support Amy D Foundation

In a show of support for the work of the Amy D Foundation, the Ellen van Loy Supporters Club recently donated $1,000 USD to the foundation that “encourages and supports young women through cycling, inspiring the celebration of healthy challenge and empowering the confident pursuit of lofty dreams.”

The announcement was made at the Ellen van Loy Supporters Club annual meeting held at ‘t Hoekske Café in Belgium, where Amy Dombroski’s supporters club was to be launched before her untimely death.

Dombroski and van Loy were teammates on Telenet-Fidea and the cafe where van Loy’s supporters club meets has a memorial to Amy D.


Femke Van den Driessche Returns to Racing

But not bicycle racing.

Van den Driessche recently participated in a local running event placing third in the 10 kilometer event.

Van den Driessche told Belgian press that the event “helped to clear my senses after the commotion of recent weeks surrounding the motor in my bike,” before adding that her “mother [has] participated in numerous races. She had advised me to enroll.”

Will this be the start of a new career for the former cyclocross racer?  “It has done a lot [for me]…. But it does not mean that I am going to start a running career.”


Eli Iserbyt Has His Own Road Bike Party

It’s often remarked that many top-flight cyclocross racers have remarkable handling skills. And U23 Cyclocross World Champion Eli Iserbyt put some of his skills to use recently on his new team road bike.

As previously reported, Telenet-Fidea has moved to Trek Bikes for ‘cross and the road and Iserbyt can be seen here in a video post to his Instagram account putting his new Emonda through some unusal paces.
