It’s well known van der Haar and Telenet-Fidea owner/manager Sven Nys have an amicable relationship. And with van der Haar’s contract ending at the end of this year, it seemed natural that that a move to Nys’ team could happen. According to Belgian press, Nys’ experience and expertiese as well as the structure of the Telenet-Fidea squad, including strong teammates such as Quinten Hermans and Thijs Aerts and Eli Iserbyt, whose own contract is being negotiated currently, were in part what drew van der Haar to make the move.

Also being reported is that both the team and van der Haar are working on a long-term, three year contract.
