Currently we have a few specific needs that can be filled locally (Bay Area) or remotely, part-time or full-time.
Design
We can always use design help for print and digital materials. Contact us – Bay Area help needed but remote is possible as well. Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator experience needed, along with great project management skills. An eye for photography helps. Send us your portfolio.
Project Manager / Admin
Help us take the next step by improving our operations, production, and customer service. Drop us a line!
Assistant Editor, Editor Intern
We are looking for a few individuals interested helping shape the voice and content of Cyclocross Magazine online and in print. Suggest, write and cull stories, process images, conduct interviews, find typos and make our content even better. We publish new content daily, and during the season, we’ll be publishing even more. Our print magazine is quarterly. If you’re interested, please send a writing sample and brief resume to jointhefun [at] cxmagazine.com.
We also have internship opportunities. We are happy to work with your school to provide credit for this internship.
Marketing Guru
Are you passionate about building brands, and active in social media? We are too, but don’t claim to be experts at it. Add the biggest name in cyclocross media to your portfolio and team up with us to grow the sport. With such a tiny “staff” and direct access to the owner/publisher, you’ll be empowered to make a huge difference in how marketing is done at Cyclocross Magazine and can quickly impact the sport you love.
Sales Executive:
Love cyclocross and want to work in the cycling industry? We’re looking for an account exec to join our small team who can help grow our business through sales of targeted print and interactive advertising packages to cycling brands, agencies, race promoters, bicycle stores, and more. Previous advertising or other sales experience preferred, but a passion for the sport and desire to learn, make money and have fun are what’s important. This is the perfect position for a college student who loves cycling and wants to earn valuable business experience while still in school.
Expectations:
- Identify, engage, and execute advertising agreements with target customers
- Spend 10-20 hours per week on average on building relationships and growing the business
- Maintain accurate forecasts and records in company CRM
- Attend weekly sales meeting (by phone)
- Billing and follow-up
- Strong communication skills, honesty and attention to detail are required

Notes: There are certainly many perks to working for a bicycle industry startup, but please keep in mind we’re a very small operation with a shoestring budget. Your efforts can go a long way to changing that, however. Also, we do appreciate proactive communication from motivated candidates. We need more help because we are far too stretched thin – so don’t be afraid to follow up with us if you don’t hear back.
