During the 2016 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships, the Mechanics National Championships will test competitors in three key skills—changing a puncture, removing, shuffling and re-installing a cassette and mounting a tubular.

Billed as the start of a new tradition, 20 professional mechanics will have their shot at glory on January 8, 2016, competing to be crowned the “Pit Boss of Cyclocross.”

While we’re sure the competition will be fierce, the officiating is sure to be just as good with KCCX’s Bill Marshall as the Chief Official and Luna Pro Team rider Georgia Gould as the Judge/Master Heckler. The event’s emcee is Bill Schieken from CXHairs.com.

If you’re looking for some fun during nationals week or need an excuse to head to Sierra Nevada Brewing Comapny’s North Carolina location, look no further.
