The women at yesterday’s Superprestige Spa-Francorchamps took to the challenge of the steep climbs and descents of the course in a battle that was as much against the course as it was against each other. Nikki Harris mastered the course the best, earning her first victory of the season.
On the run-ups, racers Helen Wyman and Ellen van Loy were seen grabbing onto anything they could to make it up the hill.
The run-up left the top women grasping for anything to help them up the hill.
On the steep descent, staying on your bike was risky, and we saw Wyman, even with disc brakes, ride straight into the fencing.
The descents, even with disc brakes, were treacherous.
