Allison Arensman targeted the end of the season to reach her peak performance, and her preparation goals paid off. Before the 2015 Cyclocross National Championships, she took home her first UCI win at the Resolution Cross Cup in Tennessee. Less than two weeks later, she represented Brevard in the D2 Collegiate Race, and took home a stars and stripes jersey after battling some of the roughest conditions all week.

Recently, we examined another collegiate Championship Bike, Drew Dillman's Winning Trek Crockett, and today we remain in the campus cycling life by examining Arensman's Felt F4x cyclocross bike.

Much like Dillman, Arensman's drivetrain setup is familiar. She used SRAM's CX1 group for her derailleurs, shifters, chain and gears, although unlike Dillman, her crankarm was a standard SRAM CX1 rather than a Quarq power meter. However, don't dismiss Arensman from the possibility of being a data geek. She had a computer mounted to her K-Edge, displaying the elapsed time, heart rate, speed and distance for the entirety of her race.

Two years ago, we gave the Felt F3x the Editors' Choice Award for best Bike under $4k. More recently, we saw Felt's latest 2016 models at 2015 Sea Otter, which offer some of the lightest frames in the sport of cyclocross. Her Felt F4x, however, was the sightlier heavier 2015 model year, which was also equipped with mechanical disc brakes in the form of Avid BB7 Road SL.

Her tires were one of the most popular selections for National Winners: Clement PDX tubulars. The wheels she equipped those PDX tires to, however, were more of a rarity. Her pair of Boyd Cycling 44mm tubular disc wheels took her around the muddy course at Zilker Park. The wheels weigh in at a claimed 1650g, and have a 24/28 front and rear Sapim CX Ray spoke count, and MSRP's at $1350.
