European-based American ’crosser Jonathan Page, who holds the record for the highest place of an American male at the Elite World Men’s Championships with a second place in 2007, has landed stateside. The Planet Bike rider flew into Salt Lake City on the 20th of June, tested out his new Blue mountain bike in the aspen trees of Deer Valley, and then took off to Wautoma, WI, for the Subaru Cup MTB race. Page stayed around just long enough to take twelfth place in his first cross country race in six years before flying to Boston. There, at the Exeter Criterium, he showed why he’s one of the top ’crossers in the world, sprinting himself into a second place finish. All this bodes well for Page, who is no stranger to US ’cross: he took third at the 2009 US Nationals, as well as ’Cross Vegas.
