For those of you who haven’t noticed the flower and jewelry shops in full swing, we have a public service announcement: Mother’s Day is today!

To be honest, and we’re ultra-guilty of this, cyclists in general—husbands/sons/daughters—tend to be a pretty selfish bunch. We focus on ourselves and how we can improve our fitness, our race times, often at the expense of that extra time that could be spent with our moms or mother of our children. This isn’t always a bad thing, we’re staying healthy, pursuing our passion, but let’s face it—sometimes, those closest to us must get a little bored of our “I can’t go out to brunch, I have to ride” excuse.

Today is Mother’s Day and sure, it’s a Hallmark event, but it’s also an excellent time to remind your mom—all of the awesome moms that you know, actually—that you appreciate everything that they do.

We often spend half our Sundays out on our bike, but maybe this is the day we take a little time off the bike and spend it with our loved ones. Or, take your mom out for a ride, support her at the races, or let her get some time off so she can ride!

And from all of us at CXM, thanks to our moms, and all the moms in our lives.
