Felt brought three cyclocross bikes to the show, in addition to the newest kiddie ’cross bike: the F2X, the F5X and the F65X. The overarching trend? Disc brakes and carefully selected components. All three use 140mm Ashima rotors, rotors made to be as light as possible, with cutouts that are said to allow for better heat dissipation while braking (at the expense of pad wear).

F2X

The F2X is the highest level complete bike that Felt produces, with an UHC Performance MMC carbon fiber frame with a BB30 bottom bracket.

Equipped with the just-introduced SRAM Red 22, the F2X will also feature SRAM’s new Red hydraulic disc brakes. The wheelset, Felt’s CxR1 disc, will be tubeless-ready with the Vittoria Cross XG Pro TNT tires.

Available in early August, the MSRP on the F2X will range from $4999 to $5169 and come in sizes ranging from 47 to 60cm.

F5X

With the same carbon frame as the F2x, the F5X shifts to more affordable componentry, dropping the MSRP down to less than half of that of the F2X: $2399 to $2479 is the expected price when it hits the shelves in June.

The wheelset is the Felt CxR3 disc, and an exciting new addition is the accompanying Vittoria Cross XL Pro tire, a new addition to Vittoria’s ’cross lineup (more details on Vittoria’s Cross XL tire and new cyclocross tires from Hutchinson and IRC Tire are here ). The bike will also feature a SRAM Rival 10-speed drivetrain, Avid BB5 disc brakes and a Prologo saddle. It has upgraded shifters and a carbon frame, but otherwise, matching components to the aluminum model, the F65X.

The bike will come in sizes ranging from 47 to 60cm.

F65X

The step down from the F5X, the newest offering – and the only currently available new model – is the F65X.

The frame is the same as last year’s model, with Superlight Custom butted 7005 aluminum and a BB30 bottom bracket. It’s paired with a fork with UHC Advanced Carbon Fiber blades and an aluminum steerer. It comes complete with a mix of SRAM Rival and Apex, with Avid BB5 disc brakes and Felt’s in-house CxR3 disc wheelset.

It has rack and fender mounts so it can double as a commuter.

This model is available now for $1749, in sizes from 47 to 60cm.
