In the women’s race at Baal, Sven Nys’s namesake race, Katie Compton took another win, this time on her new Trek Boone carbon cyclocross bike she helped develop. Behind her, Marianne Vos took second, followed by Nikki Harris in third.

Compton led for most of the race, but Vos was always close. However, when Vos to reverse course after missing the entrance to the pit, Compton was gone.

Behind them, Elle Anderson wowed the crowds with a sixth place finish, her second best since she’s been here (after a third at Diegem), and fellow American Courtenay McFadden took 11th.

Yeah, it's great to find the video coverage online, but I wish the women's race got the same billing as the men's race. A summary isn't the same. Compton vs. Vos is shaping up to be epic this year! Hope Katie can finally pull it off (with all respect to Vos who's simply amazing).
