Calling the Bilenky Junkyard Cross a unique event, would be like calling the Koppenberg a hill. There is truth to the statement, but it just doesn’t do the subject justice. Sponsored by Bilenky Cycleworks, Junkyard Cross is a unique event because it’s held in, well, a junkyard. The obstacles that racers face in this endeavor are beyond what most cross race promoters would consider reasonable on more than one level. Racers throughout the mid-Atlantic see this race as a laid back way to end the season, and many of the urban riders in Philadelphia just see it as a way to warm-up on the way to the party. Cruise through the video below to see some of the unique obstacles, interesting bikes and questionable ethics. Many thanks to Bill Schieken at cxhairs.com for the video.
