Katie Compton (KFC Racing p/b Trek Knight) had a slow start to Sunday’s World Cup Waterloo, but she still made the chase group behind Ellen Noble (Trek Factory Racing CX) and Marianne Vos (WaowDeals Pro Cycling) along with Katerina Nash (Clif Pro Team) and Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing CX).
In the fifth lap, Compton’s luck ran out when she rolled a tubular on her front wheel. Despite the mechanical, she did her best to put it back on and keep racing.
Jason McDowell, a ’cross racer from Milwaukee was there to capture Compton’s impressive feat.

This was one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in the middle of a cross race. @katiefncompton rolled her tire off her rim, and instead of running it to the pits she threw down mid-course and reset it her god-damn self. Not a winner on this day, but she proved the mettle of a champion. #ridelikeagirl #fixbikeslikeagirl #trekcxcup #trekcxc #cyclocrossworldcup #cxworldcup #cyclocross #cx #crossishere
