The new year kicked off as it always does with the 2019 GP Sven Nys in Baal.

The race is always a show of sorts, with riders displaying their new kits and bikes. This year was relatively quiet on the transfer front, although Crelan-Charles became Roompot-Crelan, giving Maud Kaptheijns new colors for the new year.

This year's GP Sven Nys also added a new winner to the 2018/19 yearbook. Jolanda Neff (Trek Factory Racing CX) took advantage of her second-row position to start fast and ultimately beat Sanne Cant (IKO - Beobank) in the last lap to get her first-ever cyclocross win in Belgium.
