Near Misses for Americans at Worlds

It was oh-so-close for American cyclocross fans at the 2015 World Championships in Tábor, Czech Republic.

American junior Gage Hecht rode great, stalking the front of the race and showing that he was, as the then World Cup number two ranked junior rider, a legitimate threat to take it all. Then his chain slipped in the final turn. Hecht finished the race four seconds off the silver medal, and three agonizing seconds from the podium’s third step. The silver lining? Hecht was the youngest of the top four finishers, so time is on his side.

Hecht could well get those precious seconds back in Zolder next month.
