November 9, 2009; Conshohocken, PA, USA: The Zipp OVCX Tour is preparing for its traditional trio of state championship races. Following this weekend’s Zipp OVCX Cap City Cross in Columbus Ohio, the first of the state championship races will be held next weekend in Indiana, followed by Ohio and then Kentucky. All three championship races are “open” races and riders from any state or country may compete, with riders from each host state competing in a race-within-a-race to determine the State Champions in each class.

The Brookside Cup in Indianapolis is once again the designated Indiana State Championship race and will be held on Sunday, November 22. The event is part of the two-day Indianapolis Double Cross Vertical Challenge Weekend, with the Speedway Wheelman hosting their first-ever Zipp OVCX race at Indianapolis’ Southeastway Park the previous day. To be eligible for the State Championship medals riders must have an annual USAC license that designates them as an Indiana resident. More information on the Indianapolis Double-OVCX Weekend can be found on TrueSport.com

The following Sunday, November 29, Ohio racers have their championship at the Buckingham Financial John Bryan CX Classic at John Bryan Park near Dayton, Ohio. This race is also part of both the Zipp OVCX Tour and the local CapCity Cyclocross Series. Further information can be found at BikeReg.com.

The 2009 Zipp OVCX Tour wraps up at the Kentucky State Championships and the colorfully-named Papa John’s Storm the Greens on December 6. Papa John’s Storms the Greens will be the double-points finale to the Zipp OVCX season and takes place at the same venue as the Papa John’s Derby City Cup USGP. Registration for Storm the Greens will be on TrueSport.com.
