Cult Cross returned to the Eagle Fairgrounds under bluebird skies on Sunday, March 15th, as race promoter Larry Grossman put together a true test of cyclocross skills once again. Racers from all over the state tested their early season cycling merits on a fun but tricky course which claimed more than one bruised muscle during the day’s racing.

A combination of technical corners, screaming descents and the need for many power surges left racers with both smiles and sore lungs and muscles by days end. Racers who finished on the top podium spots included Pro’s Chad Melis (men) and Lindsey Bishop (women), 35+ winner David Overstreet (Spike Shooter), 45+ victor Charlie Brown (Mountain Pedaler), 65+ champ Loren Hettinger (Shcwab Cycles) Cat 3 winner Courtney Gregory (Mafia/PBR), Cat 4 winner Andrew Wagner, Singlespeed winner Brian Hutchison (Subaru/Vista), Women’s Beginner winner Tara Picklo (Yeti’s Grind), Junior Ian McPherson (Flat Iron Flyers) and under 10 kids champ Sam Brown (Mountain Pedaler).

The final race of the series is Sunday March 22nd at the Eagle Fairgrounds. Races start at 9am.
