Behind THE Barriers finishes up BTB TV’s week in Providence, at the Providence Cyclo-cross Festival, one of the jewels in the New England cyclocross crown. Providence has long been one of the highlights on the New England calendar, and Jeremy Powers is in town, though a little under the weather, with aims of repeating his Saturday victory from one year prior. Behind THE Barriers is on hand to catch all of the pre-race, mid-race and post-race antics of Jeremy and the tight-knit crew surrounding him. From Tom Hopper, Jeremy’s mechanic, who cruises around the venue getting up to no good, to Mike Creed, a longtime competitor on the road who has since moved into the calm and dignified world of retirement, to the entire BTB TV crew, who were also on hand to take in the sights and sounds of Providence, Rhode Island. Jeremy’s Saturday goes according to plan, but he elects to sit out Sunday in an effort to fight off the cold he’s been carrying with an eye towards the later season. While he’s out, Ben Berden steps right in to win a hard-fought, two-up race against longtime cyclocross star, Tim Johnson!
