Get it Locally: Shimano Sport Camera or GoPro

POV cameras are the gifts that keeps on giving. Whether you’ll want to watch all those “sick lines” and racing action is debatable, but at least you’ll have the option. And maybe if you give one to a riding partner or fellow racer, you’ll actually be the one featured in the edits.

GoPro remains the dominant player, and the recently-released Hero 4 has a ton of options and is available locally at nearly every electronics, sports, and bike stores.

Shimano Sport Camera

Shimano Sport Camera

Shimano’s Sport Camera is worth considering for the cyclist, however, as it’s smaller, has better low light sensitivity, is waterproof without a case, and has ANT+ connectivity to display data like power, heart rate, and speed. It’s also what was used by Nys and Compton to capture their Milton Keynes races. Sound like a winner? Our experience with one tells us so.
