Washington’s Classic Cycle Hosts Fundraiser to Send Zach McDonald to Worlds
The ’cross community always looks after our own, especially when our own is headed to Europe to take on the best in the world. Zach McDonald is a national champion headed back to Europe to race through the end of the season into the World Championships in February. The local community is showing its support through the 2nd Annual Send a Kid to Europe Fundraiser and Birthday Bash, January 8, 2011, starting at 6 p.m.
Classic Cycle, located in Bainbridge, WA, has been a long time supporter of McDonald. Knowing him so well, they obviously see the best thing that they can do is send him back to Europe. The party serves as a front for the fundraiser to get McDonald back across the Atlantic to give the two-time national champ a shot at another World Cup podium. The fundraiser will feature food, drinks, raffle and silent auction. Merchandise includes items from McDonald’s team sponsor Rapha, Focus, Joe Sales, Pedro’s, Fizik, Giro and more.
Just like the races we all enjoy, the folks behind the scene have done all the hard work. All you have to do is show up, have fun. And maybe drop a dollar or two on a good cause.
