White Lightning, which has the same parent company as Finish Line, was on hand at the 2016 Bike Press Camp with a new product and a new look.

The newest offering is the company’s Matte Finisher. Many bikes in recent years have moved to a matte finish, be it black or another color, as the loss of gloss has taken on increased popularity. Of course, if you’ve ever washed a bike with a matte finish, you know it can be hard to keep it looking clean, even while washing. White Lightning’s new Matte Finisher was developed with Specialized, Fuji and Giant and is designed to keep the same, showroom finish on matte frames wash after wash.

For us, another product that caught our eye was White Lightning’s Clean Ride lube, which is self cleaning. They showed off the lube’s benefits in the their own sand pit, which they brought to the hotel room for demonstration purposes. The Clean Ride lube still has its special ingredient to prevent nozzle clogging in the bottle.

We were also drawn to the company’s clear grease, which easily lets you see if your bearings are contaminated, as well as the $5 USD Mechanic Grip Gloves, which fly under the Finish Line moniker.

On the branding side of things, for White Lightning it is all about a new look and new labels. Previously, White Lightning’s product labels were all different colors making products harder to find in store. The brand’s new look is uniform and easy spot, reinforcing the White Lightning name. The new branding will be in shops in the next two months.
