Video: PIR Cross Crusade, My Name Is Mud

Northwest mud, sunshine and sepia!

Not like the Northwest cyclocross scene needs any more exposure, but we can’t help it – there’s great stuff going on up there. Burk Webb has been releasing beautifully-shot weekly capsules of the Oregon race scene, and his latest – from last Sunday’s PIR Cross Crusade in Portland – is the best cyclocross video we’ve seen this week, with all due respect to the excellent footage of the women’s Plzen World Cup by Petitesreines. Mud doesn’t hurt the cause, nor does the bass-heavy accompaniment of Primus. Here we have the rare but ’cross-excellent combination of gooey terrain and sunshine!

I can't decide if I am happy to live in a dry climate or not. Ive never had a chance to ride in any mud let alone a swamp like that

I was there and suffered/exulted in the glorious bogfest that was PIR. This is a beautiful video compilation of an amazing day.

Was there and watched most of the races. Even this video barely does justice to the mudpits and bog-like conditions of the race course. Pure muck! It was awesome, a thing of beauty.

I hear ya-- I watched a few and was in there for an hour myself. That was, to put it bluntly, NUTS.
