For the second year in a row, Kari Studley took an impressive second place in the Raleigh Midsummer Night Cyclocross Race, this year behind contract winner Nicole Duke in the 2012 Raleigh Midsummer Night Cyclocross Race. Studley, the 2012 Singlespeed National Champion, is often found spinning just one gear. But for this occasion, a geared rig seemed to be the smarter choice.
“It was really hard, but I had to remember that it hurts for everyone,” she said before raving over her Redline cyclocross bike, though she admits she’s not sure if she’ll race with disc or cantilever brakes during the season.
What’s new with Studley? “I think I might try rock climbing!”
