UCI Cyclocross World Cup #3 Looking for a New Home

July 19th, 2009   Filed Under cyclocross news

The UCI Cyclocross World Cup #3, originally scheduled for Schmerikon, Switzerland, is looking for a new home. Sources indicate that financial troubles of the original promoting group are forcing the race to be relocated. Is this a chance for the U.S. to step in and finally get a race? While we can dream, it’s unlikely, as the is likely to stay in Switzerland, perhaps returning to the UCI headquarters in Aigle, Switzerland. The Aigle course unfortunately suffered from low spectator turn out the last time it hosted a cyclocross race.
