We’ve got plenty more product news for all you cyclocrossers from the Sea Otter Classic 2012. Missed a post? See our previous cyclocross product news from Sea Otter Classic 2012.Today we saw a new chainring option from WickWerks, expanding the selection of their heavily ramped chainrings from a 34/44 and 36/46 set for 110mm BCD cranksets to a new 38/46 chainring option for 130mm BCD cranksets. Katie Compton has won many a race in the past using these WickWerks rings, and we’ve had good luck with faster front shifts on these rings.
SRAM adds two new mid-cage rear derailleurs to its line-up with a new mid-cage Force and Red rear derailleur to allow cyclocrossers to use the WiFly wide-range cassettes. They’re the perfect solution to expand the usable cogsets for cyclists wanting to ride more extreme trails on their cyclocross bike, ride hilly gran fondos and gravel races, or a single ring racer who wants to use a wide-range cassette.
And if you find yourself out in the wilderness, climbing long hills with your new WiFly cassette, you can make sure you know where you’ve gone thanks to Bar Fly’s new molded handlebar clamp that allows you to mount your Garmin EDGE GPS cycle computer in front or behind your handlebar.
Lastly, FSA’s long-awaited top-of-the-line carbon and profile-convertible K-Force cantilever brakes that we saw at Interbike 2011 look to be finally under production and available for this cyclocross season. We spied a pair on Kari Studley’s back up bike in the Redline pit. Like the SRAM Shorty Ultimate, you can change between a wide profile and low profile configuration.
