SoCalCross Prestige Series presented by H2O Overdrive Round 4 is
coming your way with a brand new venue Saturday October 16th at
O’Melveny Park in Granada Hills. Thanks to the City of Los Angeles
for supporting cycling in City Parks. It’s a great opportunity to MTB and CX
this weekend!

O’Melveny Park is located above Granada Hills in the San Fernando
Valley. The park surrounds the Bee Canyon watershed and abuts the
Santa Susana mountain range below Oat Mountain. Hiking trails and fire
roads invite exploration of this 672-acre park. Outside of Griffith
Park, O’Melveny Park is the city’s second largest park. Originally
known as the “C.J. Ranch,” it was purchased in 1941 by attorney John
O’Melveny of the respected large law firm O’Melveny and Meyers and
used to grow citrus and graze cattle.

Heading to the CORBA Fat Tire Festival on Sunday?  Bring your MTB and
get a warm up ride at O’Melveny.  Trails can be accessed right from
the park!

Try ’cross and support your Local Trails CX Race at 2:30pm. $10
donation entry, proceeds will go to the MTB advocacy. Prizes to top
three finishers as well as for most creative ride: Tandem, folding,
unicycle, tall bike???  This race will take place on a shorter course
for three laps.

ATTENTION TEAMS: We invite you to hang out and potluck this Saturday
at SCPS4. We’ll bring in a small run of food from our friends at El
Pollo Loco this day. If you would like to set up in the venue with
your tents, please arrive between 7:30a-8:30a to drop off your tents
or else be prepared to walk it up the road. The park is nice with some
nice picnic areas, but not easy access for bringing things in once the
course is closed. Don’t forget to bring your MTB or trail run shoes if
you want to explore the trails!
