Retirement from pro cyclocross racing seems to be treating Tim Johnson well. In between serving as a bicycling advocate, and as a featured interviewee in Cyclocross Magazine Issue 30, Johnson made it over to Estavayer-le-Lac, Switzerland to particpate in the Red Bull Velodux.

What’s the Red Bull Velodux, you ask?

Snaking through a cobblestone-lined Swiss village, the Velodux is part ‘cross race, part urban downhill course, and part alleycat. Velodux, like many of Redbull’s events breaks the mold on a specific type of cycling.

Johnson and UCI Downhill World Cup Commentator Claudio Caluori took a preview run of the Velodux course. Take a look at the video to see what kind of wildness Redbull dreamed up, and see Johnson on board his Lefty-equipped Cannondale SuperX drop a former downhill pro.
