KENT, WASHINGTON—Raleigh Bicycles is set to ignite the American cyclocross season with their annual Midsummer Nights Cyclocross Race at DealerCamp July 25 at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah. The race recently announced that Jonathan Page and Ben Berden would be at the starting line, and if you want a chance to race cyclocross in July, registration closes tomorrow.

“We really believe in the grassroots racer and this event is a great opportunity for us to show our support and dedication to the growth of the sport in the US,” said Brian Fornes, marketing manager at Raleigh America. “We especially encourage local racers to compete this year for the ‘Top Elite Rider Without Contract’ award. Don’t let anybody school you on your own turf; if you don’t have a contract, get out to Deer Valley this week, showcase your skills and reap the rewards.”

Commencing just weeks before the official UCI cyclocross season, the open-registration Midsummer Nights race is a widely anticipated event that guarantees heckling, dirt, carnage and competition on the quest for handsome prizes.

The first elite racers to cross the finish line from both the men’s and women’s categories are eligible to receive a “Contract with Raleigh” for the 2013-2014 cyclocross season. Contract winners will also receive Raleigh’s top-end cyclocross race bike, the RXC Pro Disc and backup frameset, two Raleigh team kits and $1,500 for entry fees and travel for a total sponsorship package valued at $10,950.

Raleigh-contract eligibility stipulations apply: first-place finishers must be eligible to compete in elite cyclocross races in 2013-14 and they cannot have a current contract with a UCI team or title sponsor. In addition to the sponsorship grand prize, all podium placers will receive a cash prize.

DealerCamp, held from July 25-27, is an open-air demo and expo for the bicycle industry to ride and experience the new 2014 products. Raleigh will be displaying and offering demos on its new 2014 cyclocross lineup. The company will also be announcing the 2013-2014 Raleigh-Clement Cyclocross team prior to the race.
