The Pro XCT opener at Mellow Johnny’s Classic down in Dripping Springs, Texas, kicked off the Pro XCT Series and the MTB season yesterday with a bang. Cyclocrosser Katerina Nash showed that she’s nowhere near ready to retire with a dominant win over Canadian Cyclocross National Champion Catharine Pendrel. Georgia Gould, after taking fifth place at US Cyclocross Nationals, took third—and then went on to help with live commentary during the men’s race. Maghalie Rochette took seventh.

In the men’s field, Max Plaxton took the win, but Geoff Kabush—multi-time Canadian Cyclocross National Champion—took second. Another occasional cyclocrosser, Spencer Paxson, took eighth, while Ryan Trebon took 12th.
