Crossaflixtion Cup #1- Nov 14, 2009 © Brent Chapman

The first ever Crossaflixion Cup cyclocross race took place on Nov 14 at the 7th Mountain Resort in Bend OR.

The race featured a wicked-fast, icy and snow-packed course with a super painful run-up (or walk-up for wimps).  At 4000 feet in altitude, this course could rival other Northwest cross courses known for their run-up.

Carson Miller (LAND ROVER-ORBEA) took the win for the elite men over Ben Thompson (DeSalvo Custom Cycles) and Cody Peterson(Hutch’s).

In the elite women’s race,  Veronica Vega (Sunnyside sports) crushed the monster runup like it was a breeze while newbie cross elite Heather Clark (Bend Bike N Sport) kept the hammer on to capture 2nd place (Heather also helped build and tear down the course and assisted with registration!).

The Crossaflixion race #2 will be held on Nov 28th.
