Low Pressure Promotions announces 2010 MFG Cyclocross dates at Singlespeed party

Seattle, WA Low Pressure Promotions, LLC announced the details to the 2010 MFG Cyclocross schedule at the Singlespeed Cyclocross World Championships (SSCXWC) Coming Out Party in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood on Thursday night. MFG Cyclocross is presented by Raleigh Bicycles for 2010 and will consist of six races beginning in September and will conclude on November 14th with the 2nd Annual Woodland Park Gran Prix.

“MFG Cyclocross saw tremendous success last year during our inaugural season. We received enormous support from the Seattle cyclocross scene as participants and sponsors alike put trust in our new series,” said co-founder Terry Buchanan.

“Last year we produced a cyclocross series that brought a fresh attitude to ‘cross racing in Seattle,” Daab said. “We are humbled by the feedback we received, yet we look forward to continually improving what we offer our participants in 2010.”

One of the crown jewels to the 2010 MFG Cyclocross schedule will be the Singlespeed Cyclocross World Championships at Pacific Raceways on October 24th. In addition to a full MFG race-day schedule, the last event of the day will be the Singlespeed World Championship event. While not recognized by international or domestic racing organizations, the SSCXWC is sure to be a knock-down, drag-out, party with a bike race somewhere in the middle of the fanfare and frippery that is known as singlespeed bike racing.

BS Fornes, the Marketing Director at Raleigh Bicycles, won the right at last year’s SSCXWC in Portland, OR., for Seattle to host the SSCXWC in 2010. “We are honored that our presenting sponsor, Raleigh Bicycles, gave us the nod to produce the event.  We’ll provide race-day logistics and course guidance while Fornes and crew with their newly formed W.U.S.S collective will provide the color,” Buchanan said.  “Based on BS Fornes’ track record and the amount of fun he was having at last night’s Coming Out party, no one will leave Pacific Raceways on October 24th unfulfilled.”

MFG Cyclocross is proud to have Raleigh Bicycles as the presenting sponsor of the series for the second year in a row. Additionally, MFG welcomes back Beyond Clothing, Brouwer’s Café, Cascade Bicycle Studio, The Cycling House, Full Speed Ahead, Izilla Toys, Lazer Helmets, Mavic, Nuun, Rapha, Stanley and Bob’s Red Mill for 2010.

The MFG Cyclocross series features two events in September, three events in October, and the series finale at Seattle’s Woodland Park in November. The tentative schedule includes:

9-12-10:              Kickoff Cross Kirkland, WA
