LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – Kari Studley of Redline won the rainbow jersey today in the Masters Women 30-34. Brianne Marshall (Stans No Tubes) took second ahead of Andrea Wilson. Studley already took home two National Championship titles earlier this month, one in the Masters Women 30-34 and the other as the Womens Singlespeed National Champion.
“It’s a long season, and those are just part of it. It’s a long haul but I kept the goal in mind,” Studley told Cyclocross Magazine.
This race was similar to the one at Nationals, where Studley took off and never looked back, this time powering through the thick mud to take the win ahead of a dueling Marshall and Wilson. “I got all my mechanicals out at the start line … but at least my derailleur didn’t come off.” While early in the race, Wilson appeared to be sitting comfortably in second, it was a surge from Marshall that propelled her into the silver medal spot, tacking on a solid 30 seconds to keep Wilson at bay.
“It’s been a great season,” Studley said. “But next week we’ll be in Hawaii. I can hardly wait.”
