Live Video: Elite Women, 2014 Cyclocross World Championships, Hoogerheide

We’ve got the UCI’s live video feed from the 2014 Cyclocross World Championships of the Women’s race right here. But keep reading.

In the U.S., Universal Sports owns the video rights to the UCI’s Cyclocross World Championships, but unfortunately you have to be a subscriber, and many of us either don’t have cable or can’t even get the channel on our local cable (Comcast, among others). That means that for the biggest two days of the year, many of us are sadly S.O.L.

However, the UCI still provided a video feed for the 2014 Cyclocross World Championships to Cyclocross Magazine, and viewers not in the States can enjoy watching the feed above. Those within the States could get creative and try to look like you’re elsewhere (like Canada).

How? We’ve heard of people using a VPN or proxy server, or you can try the Hola extension for the Chrome Browser or Hola Android app, among others to attempt to watch the feed. Not that we condone such techniques, but we do condone watching the most important races of the year. Let the people watch cyclocross!

I set it to Switzerland and it has worked for watching the World Cup races all season as well as the Women's race this morning.

If you download the Hola extension for google chrome you can change your country to get around the geo-blocking.

It's amazing how a sport so popular abroad is so difficult to view here in the U.S. Not a cable subscriber and with Universal Sports holding the video feed hostage, I too was SOL for cxworlds.

Does uci georestrict this so we have to pay for cycling tv or whatever? Is the minimal revenue they bring in worth hindering the growth and viewership of the sport?

@MudNwaffles It's getting sloppy out there. Juniors said some running sections a minute long.
