Joachim Parbo, fresh off back-to-back top ten places at the 2011 Spooky Cross weekend, drives north to the Bay Area to host a cyclocross clinic and free post-clinic talk today (Tuesday). Parbo has offered three Cyclocross Magazine readers free tickets to attend the event.  Details and press release below.

Sterling Sports Group and TRP Brakes are pleased to present a cx clinic with Joachim Parbo on Tuesday October 18th, 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

The clinic will meet at the Palo Alto Baylands park, located at the intersection of Embarcadero Road and Embarcadero Way (T-intersection),  for a 90-minute barrage of ‘cross. Joachim is a multi-time Danish National Champion and has ranked in the UCI top 50. He’ll offer insights on mounts, dismounts and more. Mixed with personal feedback, training and racing advice, it’s sure to be a fun experience for all. $30 per person (win an entry, details below).

Working on those technical skills is just part of the fun. We will look at the mistakes your can make – and trying to avoid launching over the barriers in a pole vault, “Joey !” type fashion.

If you can’t make the clinic, you’re still invited to our free cyclocross presentation at The Bicycle Outfitter, 963 Fremont Avenue Los Altos, CA 94024 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. At the presentation we’ll talk about bike set up, tire pressure, and the myriad of little things that make your cross experience more rewarding. On the subject of training we will look at power based, physiological systems development, and how to build your training week.

As a special item we discuss the future of disc brakes in cyclocross. Parbo has been running the TRP Parabox disc brake set up since InterBike. He will share his experiences so far and discuss why we will see disc brakes in the Pro Peloton in less than five years.

We’ll have refreshments, some food and giveaway swag. Looking forward to seeing everyone and talking ‘cross.

Three Cyclocross Magazine readers can attend Parbo’s clinic for free by answering the following questions correctly. (Hint, two of the three questions are easily answered by using our trusty search box on the upper right of our site.)
