Last week for Throwback Thursday we brought you a low-res photo montage of Katie Compton’s second Cyclocross National Championship win. The 2005 title for Compton was the second of her current title-winning streak.

This week we’re taking a look back at Jeremy Powers’ first USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championship win. It was 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin where Powers earned his first Stars and Stripes jersey, a truly emotional moment for Powers after disappointing rides on the biggest stage.

While Powers has since won the title three more times, including the 2016 Cyclocross National Championships, his current streak of victories didn’t start until the 2014 race in Boulder.

Kick back and watch Powers race to his first victory at Nationals back in 2012, here.

The video was posted to YouTube and is a re-braodcast of USA Cycling’s livestream of the event from 2012.
