One of the first bikes we checked out at the Outdoor Demo at Interbike 2012 was the brand-new Jamis 2013 SuperNova Team carbon cyclocross bike. The Jamis 2013 SuperNova Team cyclocross bike will premier with a full carbon frame and fork, SRAM Red groupset, and like many new cyclocross bikes, Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes.

Jamis’ Todd Corbitt told us that the BB386 EVO BB provides the platform to design a stronger, lighter and stiffer frame. The beefier EVO bottom bracket and oversized seat tube area was also designed to withstand the excessive pressure put on this spot by cyclocross remounts. The bike will be available in October, with an MSRP set at $5200. You can see the bike in action tomorrow at CrossVegas with racer Tyler Wren.

The Jamis Supernova is the more affordable model, with SRAM Apex build and an MSRP of price $2200. The bike will be the same frame as the team build, just with lower cost Apex group set and Avid mechanical disc brakes.
