Cyclocross Magazine staffers had a great time at last year’s Jam Fun Grand Fundo. And this year’s event is just around the corner. The ride, which takes place in Western Massachusetts, is limited to 500 riders and registration has just opened. Proceeds from the Grand Fundo support the JAM Fund, which helps promising young cyclocross racers make the leap from development rider to professional racer. The ride is hosted by the reigning Elite Men’s Cyclocross National Champion, Jeremy Powers, and will be attended by his newest teammate, Ellen Noble, as well as other professional cyclists.

Registration is now open for this year’s JAM Fund Grand Fundo, the annual bike ride in Western Massachusetts. Leading the ride is four-time Cyclocross National Champion and Southampton resident Jeremy Powers and many of his friends. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16 at Black Birch Vineyards in Southampton. Last year 400 riders participated and the cutoff this year will be 500. The ride is a fundraiser for the JAM Fund non-profit cycling development program that promotes cycling and healthy lifestyle for young people.

In addition to pedaling with JAM Fund co-founder Powers, other members of the JAM/NCC/Vittoria elite team will be present including JAM Fund’s alumna, U23 Cyclocross National Champion Ellen Noble, who now races for the professional Aspire Racing team. JAM elite team members Scott Smith and Jack Kisseberth are returning from Belgium to ride in the Grand Fundo, as well as JAM alums Anthony Clark and Stephen Hyde, who are both professional cyclists now after graduating from the JAM Fund cycling program.

The Grand Fundo is JAM Fund’s biggest fundraiser, and it’s how the organization is able to sent the team to races such as National and World Championships. All proceeds from the Grand Fundo go toward the JAM Fund development cycling program that helps make riders’ professional cycling dreams come true.

This year’s Grand Fundo offers the same three ride options: the 38-mile Mini Fundo, 68-mile Grand Fundo and 88-mile Grand Hundo, with the famous ice cream truck, fully stocked rest stops, support vehicles, post-ride barbecue and world famous raffle where ticket holders can win incredible prizes and gifts from JAM Fund partners.

For those who are not interesting in riding, they can buy a ticket to the barbecue and come enjoy the raffle and other festivities.
