When Jade Wilcoxson took silver at cyclocross nationals in January, many were surprised, since she hadn’t raced much during the season. Her finish there scored her a spot on the Worlds team, where she took home a mid-pack finish, impressive for her first year just having fun with cyclocross. And after her win in today’s race at US Road Race Nationals, as well as a fourth place finish in the time trial on Saturday, Wilcoxson has left no doubt that she will be a force to be reckoned with in women’s cycling.

In the men’s race at Nationals down in Tennessee today, occasional cyclocrosser Ben Jacques-Maynes took fourth place and Jamey Driscoll took 16th.

Stay tuned for a catch up interview to find out what she’s been up to in her “offseason.” Can’t wait? Check out Issue 20 for her Nationals story.
