It’s not enough to be one of the best cyclocrossers in the country to make the dream of an appearance at Cyclocross Worlds a reality; many of the selected athletes need to pool their resources just to afford the trip. Luckily, their families and the supportive cyclocross community is quick to lend a hand. The Mid-Atlantic ‘cross scene is coming together to support Laura van Gilder with two fundraiser races, the Keough family organized an event to help their Luke cross the pond, the good folks of Delaware have rallied around local Junior Jeff Bahnson, and now Maureen Bruno Roy’s sponsors are giving her European campaign and trip to the World Championships an extra boost with a fundraiser raffle.

It seems like it was just yesterday that we found out Mo Bruno Roy was selected to represent the US at the Cyclocross World Championships. We had just returned from the National Championships in Bend, OR with absolutely ZERO done on the Christmas shopping lists and a huge backlog of clients (Mo) and experiments (Matt) awaiting us. We got word on December 18 that Mo made the team and we’ve had just about three weeks to plan the logistics to be in Europe for the next 20 days. In addition to our logistic gymnastics, a revved up winter training plan and the occasional holiday party, we, along with Seven Cycles, managed to put together an absolutely amazing raffle to help offset expenses of airfare, accommodations, car rentals and time away from work.

Here’s a break down of the incredible items our sponsors have contributed:

Grand Prize: Valued at $7500, a COMPLETE CUSTOM Seven Cycles bicycle built with the identical components found on the Mudhoney SLX that Mo races.

Here’s what you’ll win:

1st Place: Valued at $1000, Pedro’s Master Tool Kit 3.0, This 65-piece kit has the tools you need for any event, hand picked by the pros! You’ll never buy another tool again.

2nd Place: Valued at $700, a full Thule rack system, custom to the winner’s vehicle along with 2 bike trays.

There will be a limited number (250) of raffle tickets available for purchase. Raffle tickets cost $50 each or 5 for $200. The raffle is available only on BikeReg.com from January 8 through March 1, 2010. Prizes will be drawn at a post World’s event TBD.

Should you wish to donate to MM Racing but not participate in the raffle, please make donations through PayPal to [email protected] or by mail.

Yeah, it’s a pretty ridiculous raffle. We know.

We are leaving soon (Wednesday!) and Mo will be lining up with the worlds’ best this Sunday at the World Cup in Roubaix, France. We’ll have a week of training in Arendonk, Belgium before competing in another World Cup, this time in Hoogerheide, the Netherlands. Following the last World Cup of the season we will head to Prague and then to Tábor for the World Championships on Sunday, January 31.

We’ll do our best to send updates but we’re not sure what our internet access will be like. If you’re itching for more MM Racing, you can follow us on Twitter, or join us on Facebook.

Thanks for the continued support! Pass this on to your friends!
